Scotland the Brave
My heritage includes Scottish, Irish and Norwegian ancestry. The common misconception is that all Scots are Highlanders. There is also the Lowlands, an area settled mostly by Anglo Saxons, and my  own family's area, the Borderlands. Historically, the Borders suffered greatly because of the constant invasions by the English. The invading armies would raze the villages and townships and also replenish their supplies by stealing everything they could from the locals. My mother's family has strong ties to the Highland Clan MacPhearson, as she is a Murdock. The Murdocks were known to be very secretive, and had a strong showing at the ill-fated Battle of Culloden.

My father's side of the family were clerics and skilled land managers.

For the oldest parts of my family's genealogy, we were basically VIKINGS.
