Links to Classical Arms Dealers

I am constantly asked where to get good classical style weapons for training. Since only the best weapons hold up to what we do in our training, I am very discriminating about where to spend my hard earned money. All the mentioned links are from dealers that I have personal relationships with and have my recommendations or seem like nice people. (I don't like doing buisness with jerks).

Shinobi Gear

This site has some wonderful training weaponry for the serious practioner of the ninja arts. They have some hard to find training tools that can help you with your quest.

Texas Jack's is the best outfitter for the sports known as Western Action Shooting. My close friend, Jeff Kehoe Sensei and I caught the bug to begin shooting in this sport. Chris Ballard has been of great help in helping me get started. Please give them a try!

J-Armory

A very good dealer in Japanese and Chinese styled edged weapons. Right here in Austin, Texas! The owners are good personal friends of mine. Unlike many other sword sellers, James San actually CUTS with his products. (See right)

Purpleheart Armory

This is a good sourch for staves (Bo) that are long enough for the tall student and teacher. They also make some fantasic wooden replics of many things of interest to the reinactor and martial artist.

Hollow Earth Swordworks

I own a Longsword wooden sword from these really nice people. I am very happy with it!

Angel Sword

This is the absolute APEX of any sword I have cut with. For certain, there are many other great American swordmakers. Master Daniel Watson is the one I met first.

White Heron Dojo

A very trustworthy and honorable person, Keven Sensei is very skilled with the swords he sells.

A friend of mine gave me a tameshigiri stand from this company. It is fantastic!

The Buki Company provides excellent training weapons well suited for the budo student. We are big fans of their hickory bokens! They provide excellent service and products. The Buki Company offers hard to find training gear such as the kami yari, kyoketsu shoge, naginata, kunai and daito training versions!

Two close friends and students of mine own and operate this internet sword shop. Swords for the serious martial artist . I do consulting for them, and every sword they offer is one I would own myself. I offer a discount through them as well for their customers.

Realm of Fantasy

This shop right here in Austin, Texas provides the full range of collectible swords to combat - worthy ones.
Very nice people own and operate this Internet shop! I trust hem very much, not to mention my affection.

Therion Arms is run by by an expert martial artist. He is well versed in the western historical applications of everything he provides.

Therion's site is full of useful information about a large variety of subjects. Please take some time to visit and browse his site.

Knighthawk Armoury

These padded weapons are not only pretty safe for sparring, but they even LOOK like real swords, axes and maces. While no training weapon is perfectly safe, these come darn closer than most I've seen. Well made and but all accounts very durable! Not really suitable for the kendo sport, but very good for sparring with minimal protection.

Rising Sun Imports

This is a fine place to purchase genuine Japanese apparel. One of my students bought a kimono from Rising Sun Imports, and it is very high quality at a decent price.
