I have a habit of giving some of my weapons to students of high caliber. I decided to start photographing students with them.

Here Aaron Sensei receives my J-Armory Fuyuyama Katana. I made a custom tsuka (hilt) and did the tsuka ito (handle wrapping).

I sharpened it, too. Aaron Sensei was awarded Shodan (First degree Black Belt) from me, and then lived in Japan for a year studying Budo Taijutsu at Hatsumi Sensei's Hombu Dojo. They then offered him a Sandan (Third Degree Black Belt). Aaron contacted me to ask permission to accept this rank, and I enthusiastically gave the affirmative!

Aaron Sensei has been my student and friend for more than eleven years. Gifted both culturally and intellectually, Aaron Sensei even makes his own Meade.
A weapon should fit the style of martial art and the taste of the owner. This katana is light, quick and flexible. I could say the same thing about Aaron Sensei. Please note the image on his t-shirt.
