Ninja at A-Kon
There were no shortage
of Ninja at this convention!
Our
own clan, the Tanemaki
Team Oni Arashi Ninja, encountered a different clan
from our own. Like cats that hiss and arch their backs, we all assumed combat
postures.
It was a classic
standoff! Neither side showed any weakness or fear.
The
standoff was only a few moments, but the tension made it seem like a lifetime.
The energy was so solid, it could have been cut by a sword!
Note
how Montana Sempai (left foreground) follows the true training of classical
Ninpo by using whatever is at hand as a weapon! His water bottle follows
the art of Sui Ren (water techniques). Montana Sempai is
performing the kamae (posture) of Doko No Kamae (angry Tiger posture), useful
for many applications, including tanto nage (knife throwing).
